To qualify for this trip, you will need to have 2 months of proveable child-caring experience, have your high school certificate or diploma and have your full driver's licence, as well as meet the. As an au pair, you can not smoke or have suffered from any mental health or eating disorders, will not require orthodontic or medical treatment whilst abroad you will be required to obtain and pass a medical examination as proof. You must attend an interview at our office as part of the government's regulations.

The beauty of this trip is that your days will be filled with au pair duties and then you’ll have the evenings and weekends to explore however you please! As a rough idea, here’s what you can expect:
It’s finally here - the first official week of your new life in the US! Once you’ve touched down, you will be taken to your 3-day orientation in New Jersey organised by our partner organisation.
Head to your 3-day orientation in New Jersey, where you’ll meet other au pairs starting at the same time as you! You’ll receive CPR training, learn important driving & child safety techniques, discipline strategies and development games & activities. Plus, you’ll get the chance to go on an optional tour around New York City!
If you have experience with children under 2, you may qualify for the infant-specialised program, where you will you have an extra day of training at the hotel in New Jersey.
Once you’ve completed your orientation, it will be time to start your au pair adventure! A flight will be arranged to take you to a major airport closest to your host family, where they will be eagerly waiting to take you to your new home. Spend your first week getting to know the family, setting up your bedroom and navigating around your new neighbourhood!
