Our Study in Florence trip is designed to get you travelling, living and learning Italian cooking overseas as smoothly as possible. You’ll be learning Italian cooking from a master! Someone who has been doing it her whole life and who learnt from someone that has been doing it their whole life. The skills you’ll be taught have been passed down generations, and one day you’ll be able to pass them down too.
This course is taught with the goal for you to not just make exceptional Italian food while you’re here, but to be able to use those skills when you get home. The main purpose of this trip is to get you cooking Italian dishes like an Italian.
Our in-country partner’s teaching style focuses on ingredients and their uses instead of recreating recipe after recipe. Although you will learn some famous Italian dishes in the process.
The idea here is to give you a good understanding of the different ingredients used, the role they play in the dish, and why it’s necessary.
That way, your new cooking knowledge becomes ingrained in how you look at food. If you can’t find a certain ingredient you won’t panic and abandon the meal. Instead, you’ll know what role that ingredient plays in the dish and what to replace it with.
