Just in case it’s not clear already, we’re not an employment or recruitment agency, so please don’t book with us if that’s what you’re looking for. We sell and organise amazing international travel experiences for the purpose of cultural exchange & education. If a trip has a paid work option, this is not mandatory to do and is there as a means to fund your travels only, and no fee is charged by us for this component. All payments you make are for travel and local support services. If you’re still confused, please get in touch.
Our Teach in Costa Rica trip is designed to get you travelling, living and teaching English overseas as smoothly as possible. We’re here to help you from the very beginning, offering step-by-step guidance as you embark on a path to work and travel as an English teacher abroad. We provide an internationally-recognised TEFL course and provide you with the optional opportunity to work as a paid English teacher upon completion of your course.
Arrive in Costa Rica with the reassurance that you will be one step ahead of every other traveller or teacher in search of international experience in Central America. Once you’ve completed your TEFL in Playa Sámara, you’re free to take it with you to many countries in the world and embark on exciting teaching projects abroad. Or you can choose to stay for longer in Costa Rica and earn a local income with an optional teaching placement in various private language schools around the country. We’ll plan and organise all the surrounding logistics, our 24/7 emergency support team is always on standby, and our in-country partner will guide you throughout the entire journey and answer any questions that may arise.
Spend your time teaching in Costa Rica, immersing yourself in the happy and vibrant culture, exploring the breathtaking landscapes and jetting off to neighbouring countries and leave the logistical stuff to us. We’re here to save you time, money, stress and even the risk of returning home early! Embrace a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel, live and teach in Costa Rica and start making magic happen in the classroom of your dreams.
To qualify for this trip, you must have your high school certificate or diploma and you'll also be required to bring a laptop with you to aid your classroom duties as a teacher.
What extra costs will I have?
Flights, travel insurance, visa, criminal background check, souvenirs & spending money.
The beauty of this trip is that you have the freedom to create your own adventure. But, for a rough idea, this is how most travellers spend their first few days:
Once you’ve touched down at Liberia Airport, your private transfer will take you to your course accommodation in Playa Sámara.
You’ll be introduced to your TEFL classmates and trainers and will prepare to begin your training for the next 4 weeks before your optional teaching contract starts! In your spare time during your TEFL course, you could find yourself booking one of the following tours through our in-country partner: river kayaking, ocean kayaking, dolphin watching & snorkelling, turtle tours, river or ocean stand up paddleboard or sunset boat tours.
In addition to your TEFL course, you’ll also complete 10-20 hours of observed practical teaching within a local school so that you’re adequately prepared to begin teaching if you choose to get placed.
Most people are presented with a local teaching contract within two weeks of finishing the TESOL course. In the unlikely chance you haven't received yours, our local partner won’t stop until you’ve got one.
