You won’t just be like your fellow colleagues at your hotel. This trip is a paid internship and training program in hospitality or hotel management in the USA. You will not only become trained-up from working in various parts of the hotel over the 6-12 months that you are there, but you’ll also be earning within the top 3% bracket for your selected market. Some hotel chains even provide you with 2 hotel placements in different parts of the country, with relocation costs included! Past examples have included 6 months in California & 6 months in Florida and a placement in Aspen, Colorado with a placement in Napa Valley, California during the off-season. Touch down in the USA to begin your hospitality traineeship adventure. Your first week will vary greatly depending on who you have undertaken your traineeship with. If you’re with a hotel you will always start with an orientation class with the other new exchange participants & employees to the hotel. This is where you will learn about the hotel culture and what’s involved with your new role.
If you have taken on a traineeship with a standalone restaurant you will be a lot more down to business. Meeting HR and who you’ll be working with, given a tour and a rundown of your role, then you’ll jump straight in!
You could be placed at 4 and 5-star hotels, or prestigious restaurants in sought after locations across the USA.
Land a traineeship learning everything there is to know around your speciality in the hospitality industry. You’ll work your way up while also making a great wage and great friends in the process! Yes! There are several destinations that are open to travellers right now! And if you’re from Australia, you could be able to get an exemption to travel if you’re travelling for over 3 months*, which is the majority of our trips. We can advise how to apply for this exemption. We recommend our travellers book their trips at least 6-12 months in advance, so by the time you’re ready to depart we’re confident your destination (if it’s not already open) will be open and ready to go. *Full exemption info here.
If you have to make any changes to your departure date, you’re protected by our Lifetime Deposit Guarantee and our Ultimate Corona Booking Flexibility. With this, we will change your trip dates for free. If this doesn’t fit around you and you can’t go on your trip anymore, we will give you a 100% refund in the form of a Trip Credit with us (See terms). If you’re unable to use it, you can also transfer that credit to someone else for them to put towards any trip too.
If you’re affected by COVID while you’re overseas, you will have all the support you need from our team or partners in-country as well as have access to our 24/7 Global Emergency Line. We work with a travel insurance company that provides COVID protection, and people going on Volunteer trips will get this for free currently!
Yes we are! All of our trips are still being planned for and taking new bookings. We always recommend that our travellers take 6-12 months between booking their trip to departure. This gives you plenty of time to arrange all the finer details of your trip, and pay it off. If things don’t go as planned you are always able to rearrange your trip using your Lifetime Deposit Guarantee and Ultimate Corona Booking Flexibility! So there is really nothing to worry about.

Yes you can! Simply tell your Trip Coordinator after booking that your friend is also going and they can link your profiles. For most of our trips we should be able to have you and your friends placed together. Meaning that you can live together and work together. If availability doesn’t allow it, we’ll get you in the same area. So you’ll be able to have this experience together!
Our Ultimate Corona Booking Flexibility means you can change your trip’s start date up to 28 days (45 days for Teach Trips) before departure without incurring ANY charges, and you’re able to rebook it for ANY time (or even any other trip) in the next 2 years from your original start date.
In the event that you want to cancel your booking altogether, if you give us over 28 days notice (45 for Teach Trips) you can do so with only a 50% cancellation fee. Your refund of the balance will come in the form of a Travel Credit which you can put towards booking absolutely anything travel related with your Travel Concierge within the next 3 years!
