Trip details

Our USA J1 Hospitality Traineeship is designed to get you set up abroad as quickly and safely as possible. If you haven’t heard already, getting a visa to work in America isn’t easy. You can’t just fly over there and start working unless you have already secured yourself a placement through a registered US sponsor organisation. Our expert team takes care of all the stressful essentials you need to get set up overseas, from a US Government-approved visa sponsorship, to J-1 visa application advice, as well as unparalleled guidance and support on any questions you might have about working, living & travelling in the States. Simply, we’re here to ensure your transition to experiencing life in the USA is seamless.

Arrive into the USA knowing that you’re one step ahead of every other traveller starting this experience. You’ll be adequately prepared to slip right into your paid hospitality, tourism, hotel or culinary training program, having already been in close contact with your new host company in America. With the hard work already done, you can focus on learning and earning. Gaining skills and slipping seamlessly into your new American way of life. Our team offers 24/7 support throughout the entire journey and we’re only a phone call, click or message away!

You won’t just be like your fellow colleagues at your hotel. This trip is a paid internship and training program in hospitality or hotel management in the USA. You will not only become trained-up from working in various parts of the hotel over the 6-12 months that you are there, but you’ll also be earning within the top 3% bracket for your selected market. Some hotel chains even provide you with 2 hotel placements in different parts of the country, with relocation costs included! Past examples have included 6 months in California & 6 months in Florida and a placement in Aspen, Colorado with a placement in Napa Valley, California during the off-season. This is a great trip for anyone interested in pursuing hospitality, tourism or hotel management as their career. An experience like this at a top hotel in the US is a rare feat for a resume/CV. Examples of departments you could be trained up in are culinary, food & beverage, housekeeping and front office.

Spend more of your time in the country exploring, seeing the incredible landscapes and road-tripping with friends instead of sweating the logistical stuff. We’re here to save you time, money, stress and even the risk of returning home early. Make your time count on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live, work & travel in America and get out there to find your ‘pinch me, I’m really here’ moment.

Requirements

To qualify for this trip you must meet the visa requirements. You also must either;

  • Be currently studying a degree in hospitality/tourism/hotel/business management or have graduated within the last 12 months at the time of applying for your visa.

Trip itinerary

The beauty of this trip is that it provides incredible real-world experience for your career, while still giving you enough time off to be able to explore the USA! As a rough idea, here’s what you can expect:

Week 1

Touch down in the USA to begin your hospitality traineeship adventure. Your first week will vary greatly depending on who you have undertaken your traineeship with. If you’re with a hotel you will always start with an orientation class with the other new exchange participants & employees to the hotel. This is where you will learn about the hotel culture and what’s involved with your new role.

If you have taken on a traineeship with a standalone restaurant you will be a lot more down to business. Meeting HR and who you’ll be working with, given a tour and a rundown of your role, then you’ll jump straight in!

Trip location

You could be placed at 4 and 5-star hotels, or prestigious restaurants in sought after locations across the USA.

Traveller jobs & locations

Land a traineeship learning everything there is to know around your speciality in the hospitality industry. You’ll work your way up while also making a great wage and great friends in the process!
